Education and Experience
Mrs. Daher received her Bachelor’s degree from UW-Parkside in Psychology and her Masters in Community Psychology from Alverno College. She is a Licensed multilingual (Arabic) Psychotherapist in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and has several years of experience working with clients of diverse backgrounds. Mrs. Daher creates a safe and inclusive space for individuals and families to heal and make meaningful life changes. In an effort to embrace the uniqueness of every individual, Mrs. Daher is able to provide a tailored treatment approach.
Before Mrs. Daher started her own practice, she began her career as a Social Worker at Woodstock Health and Rehab in Kenosha, Wisconsin. After Receiving her Master’s degree and becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor, she interned at Rogers Memorial. She worked in the dual diagnosis and outpatient programs, each serving different populations. At Rogers, the majority of her training was spent working with adolescents and adults who struggled with addiction and mental health. She continued her career as a therapist at Family Options Counseling where she worked with individuals and their families who had experienced trauma. She has also furthered her career working with Sebastian Family Psychology providing Psychotherapy to immigrants and refugees. Her diverse work experience has equipped her with the experience needed to become an empathetic and well-rounded psychotherapist.
Christina was raised in Milwaukee and attended Riverside University High School (GO TIGERS!). Christina earned her Master’s degree in Community Psychology from Alverno College and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Training (LPC-IT). Prior to becoming a licensed counselor, Christina taught elementary school and worked in the court system for Milwaukee County. Christina has years of experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds. Respect, safety, and honesty are the cornerstones of Christina’s therapy style. Every treatment plan is created specifically for each client because each journey is unique.
Prior to working for Zena Counseling, Christina gained experience as a Crisis Counselor and treated clients in acute distress. Christina provided crisis case management and temporary individual counseling. Christina is trained in Debriefing and Deescalating techniques, Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk, Dialectical Behavior Therapy in Crisis Intervention, and Trauma Informed Care. Christina specializes in Racial and Gender Identity, Depression/Grief, Anxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Self-Esteem, Self-harm, Sexual Abuse, and Suicidal Ideation.
Afnan Alharbi was born and raised in Saudi Arabia and earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology with first-class honors and has been awarded a scholarship to study abroad. She completed her master’s degree in clinical psychology at Cardinal Stritch University and is a bilingual Licenced Professional Counselor LPC-IT. She has several clinical experiences working with individuals and groups with a variety of mental disorders and psychological issues. In the past 2 years, she worked in a variety of treatment settings including inpatient psychiatric facility, intensive outpatient program, partial hospitalization program, Trauma Recovery Program, and counseling services
She is well-rounded and trained in a number of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness-based interventions. Her approach incorporates an empathic, practical, insight-building approach to psychotherapy. Her goal as a therapist is to provide a safe collaborative environment for clients to connect to and explore themselves and build insight into their problems to be the best version of themselves, reach their full potential, and live the life to the fullest. Ms.Alharbi strives to make therapy for her clients a stepping stone to a new journey.
Melissa Summerfield is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Wisconsin, and a Registered Play Therapist with the Association for Play Therapy. She completed her MS in Educational Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Melissa has been working in private practice, collaborating with schools, medical clinics, hospitals, community agencies, and rehabilitation settings for 32 years
She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of children (age 2 and above), adolescents, and adults. Melissa has experience in the treatment of children and adults with anxiety, depression, behavioral difficulties, grief and loss, and trauma. She uses a multicultural orientation with expressive therapies in her practice and provides individual, group, family, and Parent-Child relationship therapy. Melissa believes that each person has the potential for growth and change.
